Practitioners
Jean Senior
Jean has lived in Scotland her whole life, has been a practicing medical herbalist for over 28 years and has been working with plant spirit medicine since her childhood. She graduated as a medical herbalist from the University of Wales and her undergraduate dissertation researched the use of shamanic practices to enhance our understanding of the medical uses of plants. She first started formal training in shamanism over 25 years ago, and is a qualified shamanic teacher and practitioner. In her practice as a medical herbalist she makes her own medicines using fresh plants whenever possible and believes that the healing power of plants extends beyond their pharmacology into their essence as living beings. We need to slow down to be in direct communication with plants, who are only too keen to offer their wisdom and guidance and teaching others how to do this is a lifelong passion.. She leads foraging walks, guiding people to identify and use plants for both food and medicine and has an extensive knowledge of the plant kingdom. She has a degree in archaeology, and is also a life coach, massage therapist, aromatherapist and reiki practitioner. She believes that helping people connect to the healing potential of the natural world awakens their own inner wisdom.
